Q. Are candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana eligible for 15% All India Quota seats in NEET-UG?

A. Yes, as of 2018, candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are eligible for 15% AIQ seats without any self-declaration.

Q. Is admission to AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry possible through NEET-UG?

A. Yes, that is correct.

Q. In how many regional languages will NEET-UG be conducted?

A. NEET-UG 2020 will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Assamese, Urdu, Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi, Malayalam and Odia.

Q. Can a candidate from Tamil Nadu, who has selected Delhi as the exam center, opt for Tamil as the medium of the question paper?

A. No, Tamil medium is only available at centers located in Tamil Nadu.

Q. In which language will a candidate who selects Hindi as their medium of question paper in NEET-UG be provided with the Test Booklet?

A. If a candidate selects Hindi as their medium of question paper, they will be provided a bilingual Test Booklet in both Hindi and English. If there is any ambiguity in the translation of any question, the English version will be considered final.

Q. Can a candidate choose Delhi as their examination center if they opt for Assamese as the language of the question paper?

A. No, allotment of the medium of language is state-specific. If a candidate selects a vernacular language as the medium of the question paper, they will be allotted a center only in the respective state of that vernacular language. In this case, the examination center will only be in Assam.

Q. Are there any MBBS/BDS seats for which admission can be obtained without taking NEET-UG?

A. No, admission to 100% MBBS/BDS seats will only be done through NEET-UG.

Q. For which seats will admissions be made through NEET-UG?

A. Admissions will be made through NEET-UG for All India Quota Seats, State Government Quota Seats, Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities, State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical/Dental Colleges or any Private University, and Central Pool Quota Seats.

Q. Is there a limit on the number of attempts allowed for NEET-UG?

A. According to a letter from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare dated December 6, 2017, there is no cap on the number of attempts.

Q. If a candidate selects Oriya as their language for the NEET-UG exam, will they still be eligible for the 15% All India Quota?

A. Yes, candidates who qualify for NEET-UG are eligible for the All India Quota and other quotas under state governments/institutes, regardless of the language they choose for the exam, as long as they meet the other eligibility criteria.

Q. Who can take the NEET-UG exam?

A. The NEET-UG exam is open to Indian nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), Persons with Indian Origin (PIOs), and foreign nationals who are seeking admission to medical colleges in India through the 15% All India Quota Seats.

Q. Benefits under the PWD category are provided for which types of disabilities in NEET-UG?

A. The disabilities included for the benefits of PWD candidates are listed in Appendix XIV of the Information Bulletin and are required to adhere to the PWD Act.

Q. What are the minimum eligibility requirements for Foreign Nationals to appear for NEET-UG?

A. The minimum qualification requirements for appearing in NEET-UG for Foreign National candidates are the same as for Indian candidates. Additionally, foreign nationals seeking admission to medical colleges in India must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English up to the 12th standard level with 50% marks and their equivalency must be determined as per the regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.

Q. What are the eligibility requirements for physically handicapped category candidates to appear for NEET-UG?

A. For candidates with Bench Mark Disabilities as defined by the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the minimum marks required to qualify NEET-UG are 45% for General category candidates and 40% for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH candidates, as per the regulations.

Q. What are the eligibility requirements for reserved category candidates to appear for NEET-UG?

A. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks required in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in the qualifying examination is 40%, which is lower than the 50% required for General category candidates, as per the regulations.

Q. What is the role of CBSE in NEET-UG?

A. CBSE's role in NEET-UG is limited to conducting the entrance test, declaring the results, and providing All India Rank to the relevant authorities for the counseling of 15% All India Quota Seats, Deemed Universities/Central Universities/Seats of ESIC & AFMC including BHU & AMU. The result is also provided to the State Counselling Authorities and Admitting Institutions.
