What are the Eligibility Criteria’s for JEE Advanced 2024 Examination?

The eligibility criteria for the JEE Advanced 2024 Examination have been set against the following aspects:

• Age Limit: Candidates applying for JEE Advanced 2024 should be 1st October, 19999 born (on or after). However, there is an age relaxation of 5 years for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.

• Performance in JEE Main (2024): Candidates appearing for JEE Advance 2024 should be one of the successful candidates among the first 2,50,000 in B.Tech./B.E. papers of the Mains examination. Here are the percentages of shortlisted candidates under five categories:

• •  OBC-NCL: 27%

• • GEN-EWS: 10%

• • SC: 15%

• • ST: 7.5%

The remaining 40.5% is open for all categories with a reservation of 5% horizontal reservation for the PwD candidates.

• Class 12 or Equivalent Exam Appearance: Candidates who appeared for Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2023/2024 for the first time come under JEE Advanced 2024 eligibility criteria. However, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry should be their compulsory subjects.
• Number of Attempts: A candidate can attempt a maximum of twice for JEE Advanced 2024 in 2 consecutive years.

• Previous IIT Admission: If you are appearing for JEE Advanced 2024 exams, you should not have taken IIT admission through JoSAA 2023. Whether you have continued after the admission or not or accepted the seat via online or offline reporting does not matter. Moreover, if your admission to an IIT has been cancelled, even after joining, you are not eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2024.

However, if you have taken admission for a preparatory course for the first time in any of the IITs in 2023, you can appear for JEE Advanced 2024.

Again, if the authorities allocate you a seat through JoSAA 2023 in any of the IITs, but you do not report or withdraw or cancel your seat before seat allotment, you can appear for JEE Advanced in 2024.

How to Register for the JEE Advanced 2024 Examination?

You can register for this examination online through the official website of JEE Advanced, i.e. jeeadv.ac.in to complete the JEE advanced admission procedure. For 2024, the registration process will start from 21st April 2024 and continue till 30th April 2024.

The JEE Advanced 2024 exam date will take place on 26th May 2024. Candidates need to fill out the application form while registering for the examination.
