The class 12 core syllabus for English now comprises three distinct sections – Sections A, B, and C. Here are the specifics:
- Section A will include a reading comprehension activity. Every student must go through two passages under this segment – one seen and one unseen. After analyzing the facts, they have to solve either MCQs or short answer type questions, the word limit for which may vary between 40-50 words.
- Next, Section B brings up creative writing tasks where you need to complete a report/ article writing followed by a notice, then finally letter and formal/ informal invitation writing.
- In the end, Section C is all about the core Literature textbook and supplementary reading examination. Here, the teacher evaluates a student’s proficiency in framing long answer-type questions. Also, there are a few short answer type questions and tricky MCQs that test a candidate’s interpretation and analytical skills beyond the text.

- Matrices
Topics Dropped: Elementary operations (Transformation) of a matrix 3.8.1, all questions except question number 18 under inverse of matrices by elementary operations, selective questions from miscellaneous exercise (ques. 1-3 and 12)
- Integrals
Topics Dropped: Comparison between differentiation and integration, Type of integral, Interpretation of indefinite integral, Points (xi)-(xiii) in the list of derivatives, Geometrical, Questions 19, 32, 40 and 44.
New Reduced NCERT Syllabus for Business Studies
For Business Studies I & II, the NCERT panel has altered the syllabus too as per the NEP 2020 format. Here you can see the chapter-wise changes:
